Local Bakery Visit - The Cakery
I am not sure when it happened but it has. A perfect birthday has moved from a bigcelebration to a quiet, almost gentle day. I turned 46 today and it was absolutely wonderful! Starting with sweet and inspiring notes from my little ones, a morning nap, and my non-shopping man driving me across town to check out an amazing local bakery, The Cakery.
This bakery was a dream. Shopping delight in the front and a vision of a kitchen in the back. I love the energy of the bakery. It felt so warm & genuine as the kitchen wasn't hidden but put on stage! Gorgeous wood & glass sliding doors allow customers to really check out and see where the magic happens!
Not gonna lie, shopping for your own presents on your birthday can be very dangerous, especially when you are a firm believer that a girl can never have enough cake plates! Oh well, this is one benefit of shopping on your special day I will gladly take!
Gift #1: Local ceramic plate & dome. Jeanette Zeis is the potter of the beauty pictured left. I actually left with all the goodies on the right: Creme ceramic cake plate, Cakery owner's Vintage Cakes cookbook, and two handmade half aprons. Did I mention the mason jar was the actual package for one of the aprons. Seriously too cute!
